On the road to San Diego...

Well, the madness begins...

Tonight, the Grandmother of all comic book conventions begins. At this moment, I'm sitting on the train next to my buddy and employer for the week, Jim McLauchlin, president and head honcho of Hero Initiative. H.I. Is a charity organization that raises money to help comic creators in financial need. (Check us out: www.heroinitiative.org)

Well, let me recant - it's no longer a comic book convention. It's a film festival. I here Angelina Jolie is coming down to promote her new movie "Salt". Really? That has to do with comics,....how?

I've been doing this show for 12 years now? It use to be a great time, but now it's more of a pain than anything. Why am I going? Because people tell me I'm psuedo-famous and it would be cool to have me at their parties.. So me and my ego are on the way. Plus McLauchlin said,... Come out and I'll make it worth your while. Does that mean I'll have Superman waiting for me in my hotel room? I'm just sayin'.....

For me this year,...it's more of a social thing than business. I'll be Pyrating it up at the Marked Men party on Friday (www.MarkedMenParty.com) and then hunting for Zombies on Saturday (X-Sanguin.com). I get to hang with great friends, some of my Rum Runners. Can't wait for that..

Until then,...I'm sitting here enjoying my breakfast.
