NEW ART FROM LORENZO SPERLONGA

I'm super excited to show this. It's been a while since we last collaborated but here is a new piece from my good friend and Heavy Metal cover artist Lorenzo Sperlonga. Lorenzo is working on a Steampunk series for a new Heavy Metal calendar. Keep your fingers crossed for me that this makes it in.

STEVE PERRY THANKS HERO INITIATIVE

The other day I wrote about MegaCon and working with ThunderCats writer Steve Perry. Every time I face adversity in my life,... and I want to feel sorry for myself,... I'm served a stiff reminder that at least I have my health.

My favorite charitiy the Hero Initiative is working with Steve as he has terminal cancer and is struggling to take care of himself as well as his five year old son.

Coming home from school to watch the He-man/Thundercats hour is one of the very warm memories from my childhood. Thus illustrating why I am so proud to be a member of H. I. Hero Initiative provides a safety net for people like Steve who have enriched our lives in the form of comics and fantasy art and stories.

Today, I'm decompressing from a great weekend at MegaCon, where I worked the Hero Initiative booth with George Perez, Joe Benitez, and the fantastic HI volunteers. I also had the great pleasure to meet and work with ThunderCats writer Steve Perry.

IT'S ALWAYS SUNNY IN FLORIDA?

Today not so much. It's raining.

I'm off today,..on my way to the Tampa and Orlando areas for work, play, and hopefully to get my Irish on,...seeing as St. Patrick's Day is upon us.

Once I get in I'll immediately head over to Orlando to attend MegaCon. I'll be working the Hero Initiative table with George Perez. Come on down and see us,.....and donate to support comic creators in need. Follow these links for more info on the con and Hero.

A lot of east coast artist are in attendance and some of them have been great drinkin' buddies through the years. I'm excited to see old friends and to make new ones.

Man, I'm on a bus to LAX at 5 a.m. Why the hell am I up at this hour?

FLASHING EVEN MORE FORWARD

So, we were able to go on the FBI office set.. very cool. Sets, costumes, and props have always been a bigger interest to me than meeting actors,.... but that's just me. No John Cho though, damn! Oh well maybe I'll run into him at my local favorite bar/eatery.. he hangs out there too on occasion.

We did see Jack Davenport and Sonya Walger in the commissary which was a thrill for my friend Lauren who was visiting from Melbourne. And Stan Lee,.. but that guy gets around. I've had the pleasure of working with Stan,... but it was fun to see Lauren get excited about it.

FLASHING FORWARD

So, as I write this, I'm sitting in the ABC/Disney commissary waiting to meet up with the rest of my group for a visit to the offices of the hit ABC show FLASH FORWARD. If you haven't seen the show, Hulu it or whatever,... But start from the beginning. Created by David S. Goyer and starring Joseph Fiennes...very cool.

Through the friend of friends, who is a writer on the show, we will be taking a look around the lot and meeting important folks. I'm told that everyone who works on the show,..cast and crew alike, is a top-notch pro and a pleasure to work with. Good to hear.

I don't think that the actors are working today and that's fine. I'm not one for star-stalking anyway,...but I do have this need to find John Cho and tell him he rocked it in Star Trek.

Hehe.
